working with fiber cement fascia board

Any observations on the ability of fasteners to grip cement board and resist pull-out compared to wood? I need to replace a stretch of fascia board due to rot and then re-attach gutters. If there is a difference, is there a simple way to figure out how many more fasteners would be required for equivalent holding strength?

Have you considered uPVC as an alternative ??
