I walked through a new home a couple days ago & noticed it had batt insulation with plastic sheeting over it. i thought everything was kraft face these days, do people still use the plastic? weren't they saying it was bad for mold because the walls needed to breathe?

Old habits die hard. The Building Science web site is about the best one out there. If you haven't visited it, do yourself the favor. Tons of information for different types of construction in different climates around the country.
