Is it possible to have one pipe going to the (single) discharge stack and two baths connected to it, one of them as a branch? If so, will a 40mm pipe be enough?

1 1/2" pipe is the bare minimum for any waste line, and if by bath you mean the typical shower or tub plus toilet and sink - nope, not even close. R
Still nope. Check your local building code. Around here two tubs would require a 2" pipe as a minimum.
