Hey there,
I recently purchased a DiningRoom Set with a "Hand-applied antique black finish". The surface seems like it will be damaged easily. Are there any recomendations to preserve the woods finish without effecting the look of the finish.

What kind of finish? (Shellac, polyurethane, urethane, tung oil, varnish, paint, wax, etc.) A furniture wax containing beeswax will help protect most finishes in the short term, however wax will also change the luster.
