new gas oven, taking forever to heat up?

First gas oven, does it really take forever for it to preheat or even bake for that matter? Should we already be calling...

can't turn the regeneration knob

The unit seems to be clicking but nothing is happening, so I tried to turn the regeneration knob and it won't budge!!
