Read the manual that came with the unit. Most displays on unit default to display room temperature. What you program the thermostat to control does not display. EX: You set the thermosat to control room temp at 70 deg. A few seconds later it will display the actual room temperature, however the termostat is still keeping the unit running until the air temperature at the thermostat sensor reches 70 deg. Do not confuse room temperature with set point temperature. Hope this helps
