On the other hand, it's interesting that owners can be trusted to work on their own generators, over here we'd have to hand it over to Nanny or one of her approved nursemaids to get the modification done!
I noticed a PP generator in B&Q had that Mickey Mouse DC plug they seem to think is the correct one.
They can fix their own generators, but legally they cannot do *any* work to the fixed wiring in their homes. Let's not take any lessons from them as far as DIY is concerned.
