Microsoft can disable your pirated games and illegal hardware

Microsoft?s updated End User Licence Agreement terms and conditions let it disable any counterfeit software or hardware and, if you?re running a Windows 10 computer, you?ve just agreed to them.

Section 7b ? or ?Updates to the Services or Software, and Changes to These Terms? ? of Microsoft?s Services EULA stipulates that it ?may automatically check your version of the software and download software update or configuration changes, including those that prevent you from accessing the Services, playing counterfeit games, or using unauthorised hardware peripheral devices.?

This means that, if you use Windows 10, a Windows phone, or any of Microsoft?s other services, Redmond can disable any games you?ve pirated or devices you?ve unlawfully hacked.

Oh, Jolly Good.

Another nail in the coffin of Windows 10...

Followed by

"Microsoft regrets that it cannot support any version of windows earlier than 10, especially in light of the official backdoors left in it by Microsoft. "

Followed by a massive download of Linux distros...

Intent is the key though, like what happened with the FTDI driver thing.

They do use the term "may", so perhaps it's more of an ass-covering exercise at the moment?

I use an F710 with modified Microsoft drivers, because it has the proper layout, I would be Somewhat Put Out if they barred that from working in Windows 10...

A possibly legitimate software written by third parties where the drivers etc. have not been approved by M$. Most of those electronic gadgets that come out out of China come with some hacked software.

Just remember that the OS with the largest number of exploitable machines is based on linux as you frequently like to tell us it is.

That's the route I see before me.

Do any of you read what you link to?

quote

The list of services covered by the agreement doesn't explicitly include Windows 10.

However, it does include your Microsoft account

End quote.

The main reason its there is because people have been hacking X box live games to give them an unfair advantage. But don't let facts influence you going to linux as you can still post crap about windows from there. Assuming you can get it to work that is.
