Fixing Insulated Pipe

I'm replacing some old wrap pipe insulation with the new grey modern kind, but in some places the pipe is clipped to the joists.

Is there a pipe clip designed to fit over pipe insulation? or should I be fitting the insulation round the existing clips?

Fit insulation around pipe clips. Insulation always seems to shink too, so I always tray and push on slightly more than appears to be required when it's new.

A tip -- if you go for cutting it to fit precisely around T's and the like, use an offcut of pipe as a hole borer to cut precisely sized holes through the foam wall.

I've found it easier to insulate first then strap up with 'fixing strap' and a couple of clout nails, particularly on a long runs of plastic pipe.
