Electric switch - which one do I need?

Looking to be able to switch two separate circuits with the flock of one button: plan is to have a switch that will allow to completely switch off an extractor fan with a timer, so need to be able to conrol both switch-live and live at the same time.

A little confused about what is available.

What do you call what I am looking for?

Do you really need to switch off the switched live - I thought these fans drew their power from the permanent live only?

Incidentally, you imply that what you want to do is in some way out of the ordinary: actually you *have* to wire such fans in this way, so that they can be completely isolated for maintenance purposes.

though wiring as the OP suggests would not isolate them, to isolate you need to switch all 3. So best use a fan iso switc, as already said.

You also need to switch the neutral. What you need is a "triple pole fan isolator" and is available from B&Q and any electrical wholesaler.

Incidentally, the permanent live and switched live (and neutral) must be derived from the same "circuit" ie MCB in the consumer unit. No borrowing neutrals from other circuits!
