Draft-stripping double-hung sash windows

Dear All, I am trying to reproduce the draft-stripping effect of this particular system

a similar system. Has anyone got a) a source of material (ie the actual brush based strip - particularly the specialist parting bead) b) any tips as to how it can best be done? I am situated in Anglesey. Chris

draughtproofing but you'll almost certainly find something useful there if you're doing anything with sash windows.

Just in the process of fitting their parting and staff beads to a houseful of windows - works well.

Should have said - we're using the timber beads with the brush strip. The plastic parting beads look better, but they need the channel in the frame to be exactly the right size. The wooden ones can be planed to fit.

I'm assuming the channel in the wooden parting bead faces out to seal the upper sash but that makes it very noticeable if used for the full length. I wonder if a) only using the sealing bead at the top and a plain one at the bottom or b) using the bead outward facing for the top section and reverse it for the bottom half would be a good way round that. How are you doing it?
