It's like enjoying a floor show. A sub-basement floor perhaps.

Once we had Drivel and Plowman Now we have Crispy bacon and Halmarack Could this be classified as evolution?

"Crispy"? That's a misnomer if ever there was one. Lardy is a much better fit, unlike the apple, which seems to drop out far too often.

Thank you all for proving my point.

I rest my case.

He's the sort of man who will spend hours filing down a 19mm pipe to make it fit a 3/4" fitting..because the world OUGHT to be in inches..

There is no prohibition, there is an enjoinder.

If we all condemn and berate those who transgress it, its not because its law, its because we have a sort of crude democracy, and its about the one way we have of exercising it.

You can accept the world, change the world, or change our attitude.

We are DIY folks here. We look for simple practical solutions to specific life problems, not moral or ideological solutions to general problems. The simple practical solution to a toffee nosed bastard who comes along criticising other people and offers nothing constrictive to say about our actual real life problems is to tell him to f*ck off.

Generally, given the characteristics of a moralising do-gooder, this has the desired effect.

Should he persist, the simple expedient of the kill file, will allow automatic translation of his witterings into null space.

Just like a building site in fact. For every relevant answer to 'where is the club hammer' you will get 20 obscene and occasionally funny ones.

No, you don;t.

Kill files allow you to silently ignore a single posters output,.

It is s decision you take based on experience. If nothing the poster contributes is true, useful, relevant or amusing, and yet he continues to clutter up threads that are otherwise useful, you kill file him.

I don't normally look at who has posted what - I respond or not. Only after many moons of trying to teach Drivel some logic, did I realise wow much time I was wasting and simply kill filed him.

Bookworm and Bacon are dribbling on about how the world doesn't suit them. So far neither has actually contributed any DIY info of any interest. Its quite simple, If they continued to dribble on and start to pollute other treads, they will get kill fled by me as being a waste of time.

It would appear to be a considerable improvement anyway.

I thought I was making that point:-)

I ordered you to killfile me. Going by that Heat Robinson house you built you need a good talking to.

Doctor Drivel

For you information. I am not dribbling on about the world not suiting me. I am dribbling on about the childish interchanges on this group. The responses to which have more than proved my point. As for my postings. I have made several postings on subjects I have knowledge of. I am a time served City & Guilds Plumber. I just dont post for the sake of seeing my name in print.

If you wish to killfile me, please be my guest.

If you were paying those for this advice you seek you might have cause to complain. But you're not. So learn to use a killfile instead of adding more wasted bandwidth.

Great, now can you go away and be smug somewhere else?
