Botched DIY job

Hi,

While hanging up a curtain-rail, I unfortunately botched the job. Picture at

. It seems the plaster is directly on the concrete, it came off in two large flakes when I drilled the hole.

Question: how can I fix this cheaply and in a pretty way (I rent...)?

Cheers, aurelien

You need some filler:

sanding block:

sand paper:

(get the 180 grit)

And some paint to match you walls, and a paint brush.

Fill with knife, smooth with knife, wait 24 hours, sand with sand paper, then paint.

I was expecting a whole wall to be damaged!!!

As Grunff has stated you need a bit of ready mixed filler, I'd use an old credit card to smooth off the filler, then a small dulux match pot (I think they are £2-50 from B&Q) to match the paint, the whole job should cost you less than a fiver!

Before you do, get a couple of round nails that will fit the wall plugs and grease them up and place into the wall plugs. This way, you can use them again and you can open up the holes where the nails have been, so that the next screw does not crack the new plaster.
