another electric cable question

Can anyone tell me where I could find the price of materials involved in repairing an electric cable outside my house? Basically, about an inch of the armoured sheath was 'damaged' (not to the point of interrupting the supply)and about a yard of new cable inserted, obviously with two new joints. Many thanks

Ask your local electrical wholesaler, who will give you the list price, which is probably what the electrician charged you. His profit comes mainly from the trade discounts he gets on materials, which can be up to 65% on ordinary twin and earth cable, or as little as 15% on some specialised items.

Cable sizes? Materials used? Conditions in which repair was done? Material into which the cable was buried? Preparation work of clearing the site to do job? Etc. Etc. Etc. These are all needed to give a proper price.
