Assuming all the lights and outlets in question are on the same circuit: you have an open circuit (loose connection) in the line. It will be located between the last working light or outlet and the first dead light or outlet.

How old is your home? Aluminum wire or push in connections tend to cause a lot of these problems. You almost certainly have a bad connection at an outlet, or maybe a switch.

Bad bulb(s). Bad connections at switches or fixtures. Bad wire- nut junction in a box. Bad solder connection in a wall or ceiling (knob & tube wiring?). Another breaker open. Etc. ... --Phil
