Bleaching Hard Maple

May 12, 2004 0 Replies

Should be an easy solution to this since it's a common a problem but damned if I can find the answer.

Building a table top out of hard maple for a sister-in-law and I've just finished milling the rough sawn stock to near finished size. What I've found is some mineral streaking and small stained areas that I would like to bleach out so they'll blend better when the stain or dye is applied.

What have you found that works reasonably well ?

Thank you,

Bob S.
