Hi guys I am fairly new to the whole woodworking seen and have a couple fairly simple questions. Number one is for using pocket holes on a home bar made with Oak Vaneer how far from the edge do you place the hole typically? Also I went to Kent and they have "Good one side" Oak and Birch, but the plans say "Oak Vaneer" what is the difference?
The ones at Kent do not have like a finished side and would have to be stained I think, does vaneered mean its already stained? If so they do not carry it. Also can I use Birch instead as the Oak is 20 bucks more than the Birch. Below is the link to the bar I want to build and the Pocket Jig I can afford, will that work fine for this plan?
