wiring a lighting spur

got a guy doing some 'minor' work in conjunction with the neighbour ( they didnt want to do it themsleves) weve got a ilghting spur coming off a socket. according to the Regs



  1. can you run 1 /1.5 mm lighting cable clipped to the skirting board?
  2. can you put it in trunking along the top of the skirting board ? replies ASAP please .

Yes, providing it's not in a location where it's likely to be damaged.

There needs to be a fused connection unit (typically with a 5A fuse), between the 1.5mm cable and the socket, and the socket itself must not be a spur off a ring circuit.
