Although pretty,



  • marble is a soft [[stone]], easily broken.
  • its absorbent, staining readily.
  • its vulnerable to [[acid]], and damaged by food acids.
  • its damaged by normal household [[clean]]ers

A few strategies are used to address this:



  • seal the stone well
  • don't use marble on the [[floor]]
  • use imitation marble [[tile]]s

Suggest substitute "it is" for its. That removes any chance of getting the apostrophe's wrong :)

Corrected it instead. Imho apostrophes are seldom needed, so I tend to forget them.
