Which paint for steel steps?

May 19, 2012 3 Replies

Hi Folks

We have some steep steel steps in chequerplate going up into our garden. Can anyone recommend a black paint for these? Cheap and loaded with lots of VOCs would be good. The chap who welded them into place used a thick paint rather than fine heritage drainpipe paint. Unfortunately he has disappeared. Do I want bituminous paint?

POR15.

Bondaprimer is good stuff, too.

I'd forget hammerite, its not really upto it, and very overpriced for what it is. I dont know how good dulux solvent based metal paint it, but being dulux I'd expect its very good.
