What type of carpet threashold strips ?

Getting some carpet down soon and buying threashhold strips on ebay as much cheaper. I know the type for carpet to carpet but what do I purchase for carpet to tile (tiles already in situ)

Depends. By 'tiles' do you mean carpet tiles or ceramic tiles? With the carpet down, will the floor surfaces be at the same level on both sides of the doorway?

Its ceramic tiles, the carpet will proabably be slightly higher than the level of the tiles.

If the floor on which the carpet is being laid is at the same level as the top of the tiles, use something like this, with the front edge just overlapping the tiles:

or, shorter form,

or, if neither link works, Screwfix item 61821

If the floor under the carpet is at the same level as the floor *under* the tiles, and if there's a decent edge on the tiles, simply fit a strip of gripper rod about 6mm from the tiles, and trim and tuck the carpet into the gap.

If neither of those grabs you, try something like this:

That can be tapped down as required (the Z-shaped bit collapses) and the angle of the top can slope to accommodate different floor heights. I used a lot of stuff similar to that between the wooden engineered flooring in my hall and the carpets, vinyl flooring and ceramic tiles in the rooms leading off the hallway.

The Z shape one appears to be my best bet. The floor at the moment before the carpet is laid has the tiles about 7 mm higher than the adjoining floor.

Yes, then it can slope down a bit from the carpet to the tiles. I'm not sure whether the one I cited has spikes on the carpet side - but I'm pretty sure that similar ones are available which *do*.

For what's worth I've used one in the past between laminate and carpet. I seem to recall the floor level difference was nearer to 10mm and despite concerns that this might be too much - i.e. that we'd be constantly tripping up over it - it turned out to be no issue at all.
