Vapour barrier

I'm about to install insulation for my underfloor heating system. It's going onto a concrete slab that already contains a DPM (I can see it at the edges!)

I'm happy to install another one, under the kingspan, but is it necessary? I have some 1200ga DPM - will this be OK?

I have also had Visqueen mentioned, but this seems to be overkill.

No.

Sounds like bollocks to me.

I have - lets see i I can remember..block and beam floor (like a suspended concrete slab) covered with poly insulation, then a DPM then screed with pipes in it.

Kingspan has its own DPM anyway - its foiled innit?? and with a present one underneath, no chances of RISING damp. At worst you are trying t prevent moisture getting through insulation and condnesing inside the floor..but with a hot top thats pretty unlikely.

Lay the kingspan, foil it together with the supplied tape, lay your pipes and screed over the lot.
