Use decorators' caulk in hot light fitting?

Feb 18, 2007 0 Replies

I was about to do a bit of patching up of the ceiling above a 60W mains light. It is one of those flush fitting jobs (and should probably be flushed down the toilet, but that's for another discussion...), so it gets pretty hot inside.

Anyway, I found another way, but the question remains: can we use ordinary caulk in hot environments? Not cookers, not fireproofing, not heaters, just around ordinary mains lighting?

Thanks, David P.
