Hi everyone I have fitted a new trv (Yorkshire Fittings Mistral Bi-directional with Tectite push connection 10mm and M31 head) in the conservatory radiator (B&Q 4-column designer job). However I'm having problems as the trv always cuts off far too early regardless of the setting and I have to keep increasing the setting up to max at which point I disconnect the head and let the valve open fully. This more than adequately heats the room - great in the cold snaps but not so clever now! They also give you a little plastic manual adjuster cap which you can tweak to open or close the valve - again not ideal (and only for packing really). I've emailed the company but no answer :( Has anyone else come up against this one and any ideas as to a solution? BTW the lockshield is about half open at the mo but I started with it fully open - no real difference either way. Any comments much appreciated!

Sounds like the heat from the rad is effecting it more than normal. I've found mounting them horizontal sometimes helps.
Or you could try making some form of shield. You could probably prove this theory by running a fan on slow directed at the valve.
Of course, it might just be faulty. Have you got another in the house you could swop the top for?
