Tap Selection and Protocol for Sink Handing

Hi all

I am re-furbing a downstairs WC and have bought a rectangular sink with a single tap hole in the centre at one end.

My questions:

The tap will be fed by mains cold and gravity hot. Do I need to source a specific type of mixer tap to handle the pressure imbalance?

The following may be just personal choice but I thought I'd throw this one open to the floor.

Having a single tap at one end, should the tap be located at the right or left hand end of the basin? The shop displays had similar basins orientated with taps to the right, which seems at first glance to be suitable for right handed operators. But thinking about it, maybe a right handed person is more likely to turn the tap on with the left hand so he/she can put his/her soap laden hand under the water first! Not too serious a question this last one, but this group does seem to enjoy these little puzzlers.

TIA

Phil

You need the type with a concentric spout that does not actually mix inside the tap (to be fair most are like this).

Too deep for me! ;-)
