Hi All we have some 'outdoor play equipment' for the grandchildren that needs weighting down. I had some white woven polypropylene rubble sacks that I filled with ballast for this.
This worked well for a few months but the sacks have deteriorated (in the sunlight, I presume). Can the team suggest an alternative which would last for longer?

You don't want something fairly permanent, like concrete? You might be able to cast some lumps of concrete that fit over the play equipment, so they can be lifted up and moved.
No - I don't think it will have a life much beyond ... say a year's time
Lots of coastal places use 'gull proof sacks' for domestic waste. I imagine these would be suitable for continuous outdoor use.

Black plastics generally have UV resistance (or maybe UV resistant plastics are generally black?)

I think it's carbon loading that provides the UV resistance (a UV blocker). Certainly the case in black (above ground) MDPE water pipes. Regular blue stuff should not be used above ground as it is not UV resistant.
I ended up getting some of these bags via Amazon - a fair bit cheaper for larger quantities - so thanks for the suggestion.
They are a bit smaller than the original 'rubble bags' I got from Screwfix, but size-wise they are adequate. We shall see how they last. I bought enough to re-do the filling in six months time, if that is necessary...
