One did a lot of fishing here. It is an isolated place with few visitors, but stick a hook in the water and every benighted idiot in the country will break your meditation with queries about catches and fish types.

I suspect it is not allowed, although the sea is within 2km of home and it is "excercise".

Didn't try it, and I expect taking a couple of carrier bags of seaweed back to the gardenon each trip might not be totally kosher either, but needs must and compost is not available.

There must be a million and one situations that seem none sensicle these days. I could mention my inability to get an MOT waiver even though my test was cancelled and other "British" citizens qualified for a waiver!

But in the great scheme of things it's insignificant. The horrors those poor people must be going through gasping for every breath before they expire, and the unknown effects coming to light in the new generation puts things into perspective.

At least I hope to be around to gripe about the inconvenience for years to come, some will never have the opportunity.

I agree, it is frightening what damage they could do:( We are fairly isolated in N. E. Scotland so I guess we are lucky, but we still have to use some shops etc.

No, it is a very well predicted situation. The likelyhood of a bacterial infection was predicted for a long long time. The antibiotics are not working now and new ones are a rarity.

Covid-19 uses similar modes of transmission, well documented. All predicted.

Boris and Hancock did not perform well. Competent people do not fear the truth and both of these caught Covid-19. A bit stupid considering they were leading the nation in its fight against it.

Johnson also took up NHS rescources through his stupidity.

I'm very glad the medical experts were not hushed like Trumps were!

My car was originally registered in England!

Northern Ireland is British only on the occasions it suits the DUP!

We are a bit tribal on the British Isles, but since this lockdown I have been watching American news. It really is crazy how the country is so divided with race and colour being used as tools to separate the nation.

I too am isolated here in SW Ireland, for the first time there is a bit of antagonism toward migrants. The government in the republic is good, without a doubt, but it wasn't the wisest move sending a group of migrants to a hotel in a Kerry village without knowing some were infected.

You would think the migrants would shut up, keep their heads down and let their food and other needs continue to be supplied. Alas the blasted idiots are not happy, but want to go roaming around the village doing their own shopping.

If you need any migrants in NE Scotland, and the shops sell halal haggis.........:-)

I returned to Stonehaven police station and was concerned that I couldn't answer some of the questions to ID it.

I described the software and suggested switching on the thing if they didn't trust me.

The reply "No we trust you, but we had two handed in last night and dont know which one to fetch up".

That impressed me, I was quite envious of the local population. Here in Kerry it is good too, but back home in the UK midlands if I reported a laptop lost, apart from being fruitless, someone would jack up the car & take the wheels when I was reporting the loss :-)

Not all, but a significant number do have the give way to traffic from the left logo on the entrance.

Not really located in proximity to docks and airports, but there again the "Links Fahren" logo pops up at random all over England also.

This entaled many many miles of travel, the search usually being fruitless :-(

The whisky was glorious though, but not something you could spend a night quaffing!

What food were you looking for??

Anything edible!

I used to eat at a place by the top of the M6, the Auchan Castle I think. Then there was the Pitiffirane hotel not far from Longannet. That had excellent food in the early days, but as the menu got more elaborate, even to the point of pictures of the food once, the food went down.

To be honest the quality of food generally in Scotland wasn't great. There were notable exceptions though. Carnoustie had some good hotels. Everywhere in that village had very good food.

In the end though, I stuck to Wetherspoons. Not great, but you know whats coming.

Most of the haggis was brilliant, and as for the Arbroath Smokies, total heaven!

For all the greasy calorie filled food that I found up north though, no one ever equalled a take away in Stoke On Trent. I asked for a pizza and looked on in horror as the "cook" immersed it in the chip fryer. I took it, and bit into it thinking that if thats what sells, it must be o/k.

It fed the waste bin :-(
