Securing the shed

When we leave the disability chariot and my bike outside a pub we chain them together in a way that would make it difficult to steal them.

I'm a great believer in those little impact alarms. They make a lot of noise and, importantly, usually before entry is gained.

And/or to a fixed object like a loop of rebar buried in concrete. I chain up our bikes, lawn mower and ladder this way in winter - since it is the break-in season at the moment (several homes been hit locally).

You don't really want the shed outside covered in security devices screaming "look at me" as if there is something worth stealing inside or you will be forever mending it after successive breakin attempts.

Unobtrusive internal modifications to make it hard enough that they give up and go elsewhere is the optimum solution. If someone is really determined to break in and they know what they are doing you can't realistically stop them - only inconvenience and slow them down.

The Hatton Garden bank vault raid proves that!
