Hello,
I have a Mira Event XS thermostatic shower. All has been well until today, but it now makes a terrible noise when it is on. The water seems to flow as it did before but the pump is just very noisy. It is not just load; the noise does not sound healthy.
I think there are some filters inside. I guess they are worth checking before I call a plumber out. Whereabouts are the filters and are they quite easy to check? I presume I need to isolate the water first. Do I need to remove any pipes or can the filters be checked with the pipes in situ?
What do filters get blocked with: scale? How often should they be checked and cleaned? If the filters are clear, is swapping the motor the only option? I read a post on the internet where someone had the same model and same problem and he was advised to change the pump, thinking it might be a worn bearing.
How long do the pumps/bearings last? I don't think the shower is very old. Could it have worn out so soon? Is there a warranty? I shall have to look for my receipt.
Thanks, Stephen.
