Can anyone help ?

My son/wife and baby returned home yesterday from their xmas visit to us (300 miles ) to find that their c/h and hot water boiler wouldn't fire up. It is a Powermax 155, electrics are OK, he has increased pressure and there is a water drip from it, but it won't fire. He has tried every plumber in the yellow pages ( including all the 24 hr emergency ones, who don't work 24 hrs !!!) but can't get anyone to come at all !!!??? Any suggestions or help offers very gratefully received. He is desperate. Thanks

If it locked out due to low water pressure, there may be some reset button or procedure which needs to be performed before it will work again. Many boilers seem to remember they're locked-out across a power failure, so just switching the power off and on may well not reset it. The instruction manual should say how to.

Failing that, a much more detailed description of how far it gets when trying to fire up will be required.

OK, thanks for that Andrew, I have passed that on to son and he is going to look in the book. He said that the fan does not come on at all and that is the first step in the fire up sequence... so a dud fan perhaps ?
