We use a washing up bowl in the sink. Water has never reached the overflow.

Still using a bowl ! Horrible stinking things.
No they are not! After every use it gets a squirt with kitchen cleaner and a wipe out.

Bowls get dirty inside and out. The waste water goes into the sink, making that dirty. So you have to clean 3 times after using a bowl.
How dull is that.
