Yes, we have them. 2 ordinary AA batteries. Batteries seem to last for ever.

There is. Avoid them though, water leakage kills them long before the battery dies. NT

But, at only about £8 - £9, if it lasts for a couple of years or so... The performance is about the same as the rechargeable ones, hardly drops off at all for a month or more and 'recharging' takes a minute, not 18h.

I run mine on a couple of the ~2.4Ah Eneloops and change them every 4 - 5 weeks. BTW, due to the size and area of my teeth, I take about 4 min. a time for cleaning (only low force - more effective), so a rechargeable lasts about 4 days.
