Need A Plumber - W.Yorks Area + Advice on Biasi?

Dec 01, 2005 1 Replies

I don't know if there are any Yorkshire based plumbers that read this NG, but if there are please read this further.

I am about to get a condensing combi boiler fitted to replace an ageing system boiler that currently runs my C/H (badly) and heats up my hot water in my immersion heater. The cheapest quote I have had so far is £1,700 for supplying a Biasi boiler and fitting it, removing the two header tanks in the attic, removing the immersion heater and uneeded pipes etc. The house is a two-bedroom with 7 radiators. The system is currently drained, but would most likely need de-sludging.

If anyone reading this is in the Yorks area and wants to beat that quote then feel free to contact me on 07867 775131 or answer this thread.

Also, I don't know which model boiler was included in that quote, but in general are Biasi boilers any good?

Three and a half years ago in Bradford it cost me 1300GBP for a similar job: a new (non-condensing) Vokera 24kw boiler fitting in a new location that required quite a bit of fiddling with the flue to make it fit, strip out old hot water cylinder and remove redundent pipework, and fit a small radiator in the back of the airing cupboard so as not to lose its functionality (very good move!). Two days work for two men (4 man-days).

Sorry, no idea.

HTH,

Dave
