Mount PV panels

What's the cheapest way to mount PV panels on a low slope tiled roof? Was thinking of ss strap, but mfr wants 6" gap under the panels, strap won't do that.

I believe they do needsome cooling and or heat removal. I remember some yeas ago seeing somekind of honeycombed type stuff the cells, one this was for air flow, but that was when pv was in its infancy when I could see.

Cooler panels last longer and more efficient.

A graph showing temperature effect. A panel can heat to 66C in sunlight.

They charge a pretty penny for the panel mounting strips here. And somehow, the roof this sits on, is going to "like you driving fasteners in, to secure the legs". Hmmm.

You can sometimes find used clamp and rail systems on ebay. You'd have to decide if they work for you based on the kind of tiles you have.

I don't see how those brackets would work on a tiled roof. Doing it properly is quite involved - for example:

The purpose of showing those brackets, is to show they had "clearance to roof" to allow some cool air flow.

I'm not particularly attracted to the idea of attaching stuff to my roof, so I won't be doing that. While our weather isn't that bad where I live, if I put panels on the roof, I would think after five years, some of them would be missing :-/ One little storm that went through here, it was violent enough to blow dirt in through the soffit vents. I thought it would tear the soffit boards right off, but they held.

Solar panels look good on a farm property. Then if the mount becomes airborne, it's "someone elses problem" when it lands :-)

Imagine what would be left of one of those, after our hail storm this summer. (A handful of golf ball sized hail, which isn't normal for here. Our hail is normally corn kernel sized stuff.)
