Someone came to test my flat walls for damp. He had an analog meter with a finger moving around a clock face type dial. This meter had an extensible probe on a lead. He said he couldn't check behind the back partition of my fitted cupboards because the probe couldn't sense the wall behind the composite material.
I decided to get my own meter and drill a hole to allow the probe through to the masonry wall.
First off, I could mainly find digital meters online. Even the "analog" ones seemed to have a digital display and none of them had an extensible probe, only a couple of short spikes coming out of the head of the meter.
I don't want to go too expensive for a one off job, but any advice on getting a suitable meter would be appreciated.
