Microflame mini butane torch

Many years ago I bought one of these

and used it for a few jobs. I've just dug it out again but it now burns with a soft yellow flame and, although it's a very simple device, I can't see what's wrong so I'm wondering if something is missing. The burner head seems to just be a bored lump of brass with a no way to introduce air - if anyone has one of these torches it would be useful to know what your burner head looks like

The picture shows four air holes in the burner head, which probably have a fine metal gauze in them to cut down on blowbacks, and a perforated tube with airholes at the business end. The flame can be adjusted by moving the perforated tube at the business end before it gets too hot to touch. If you can't see any air holes, then it's possible that the perforated tube has been pushed back too far, so blocking the air holes, or the small piece of tube has disappeared, which would also give the symptoms you describe.

Its also possible that the jet is partially blocked if it's been in store where insects or moisture can get to it and all the bits visible in the picture are present.
