Mains in Zone 0?

The 1 mm t&e lighting cable in my loft (1976 build) suffered from the green goo issue.

It faces south and the loft gets up to mid 40's centigrade during a heatwave. It was built during the 1976 heatwave so perhaps the cable was stored in direct sunlight before installation ??.

It was a manufacturing problem and sunlight has nothing to do with it.

1976 is a bit late for that.

T&E can be in sunlight for decades before problems sometimes start. In some T&E the uv breaks down the outer plastic surface, nothing to do with the green goo thing. Heat won't cause green goo either, but of course it does speed up its progress.
