Low cost install??

Why don't you just read Part P instead of doing the easy thing and asking us?

I remember seeing something on TV in the last year or so about, somewhere in Eastern Europe, where they want Western companies to come in and invest in development of the electricity grid etc. However, the residents don't like paying for their electricity and they have a serious problem where people are re-wriring their local sub-stations and just running their own cables to the local box and stealing the electricity. They had pictures of what was being done - and it looked shocking. How anyone managed to wire up all the 100 or so cables running into this box whilst it was live I don't know. I think the problem was, the number of powercuts they had - people didn't want to pay for the poor service so they started stealing it, which in turn reduced the money they received, which meant more powercuts... ( I guess they did the re-wiring during one such cut).

Its really not difficult to work on live wiring. It is a bit of a risk, but theres always folks desperate enough to take a risk.
