Looking for replacement floor tiles - and how to oil them

Hi there,

These are the tiles in my hallway floor. Could anyone suggest where I can source some replacement tiles of this type and colour?

have cleaned and degreased this floor (after this picture was taken!) and applied boiled linseed oil to the floor, but the light brown tiles do not end up the same colour throughout. The only time I get the desired look on the floor is when it's wet!

Any advice on applying oil so it soakes into the tiles and gives me a uniform colour?

Thanks!

Hi - the beige and reds are 3 inches square, the light brown rectangles are 3" x 6", the dark brown squares are 2".

So quite small. I can't help with your query but I'm interested in the tiles - do you have a date for them?

Mary, they are from a 1922 house. Does anyone have anything to help with this question?

Cheers

There used to be a tile museum at Coalbrookdale, with an extensive "library" of old tiles. Perhaps they are worth trying (they might even be able to point you at someone who could make some replacements to order: I'd bet it would be costly though).

Lovely tiles. Red very common, beige fairly so, from reclaimers or spot the ad in Ad mag etc, but usually 6 inch. Coud be cut to size - edges rounded off with diamond block etc., Same with the blue with the nearest match you can get but probably new only. If you have a lot to cut you could take them to your nearest stone specialist - (granite worktops etc) as they may have a diamond table saw. I thought it was raw linseed oil used, half and half with turps?

cheers
