Laminate on Carpet and Tiles Junction

Hi everyone

I am going to buy lamiates to apply it to the floor of my unit. At the moment the floor is partly wall-to-wall Carpet and partly ceramic tiles. I know that I should remove the carpet before laying down laminates, but I can keep the tiles. The problem would be in the junction of the carpet and tiles. If I remove the carpet but don't remove the tiles, then there would be a height difference in the junction of tiles and carpet, and I don't know what will happen when I put laminates on that junctions.

Thanks for your help,

Kylie

For the carpet area to be level with the ceramic tiles your're going to have to lay down a quarter of an inch plywood?, other than that take the tiles up which will be a bugger of a job. You mention a "Unit" what do you mean by this? Caravan type unit?
