Kitchen Electric Questions

I'm planning a new kitchen. At present my washing machine is at the end of a row of cabinets and is powered by a socket under the worktop. Next to the washing machine is my sink unit with a right hand drainer sink.

I want to install a left hand drainer sink as this will make better use of space. This will place the draining board partially above the washing machine and closer to the power socket.

Is this OK or is there a required minimum distance between sinks & power points ?

I also want some additional power points installing, can I do these myself or do I need to get them done professionaly or certified ?

My current stove is an all in one unit, it's being replaced by an electric oven & separate electric hob. I have 1 30W connection, can I add another in series myself ?

Thanks

Andrew

You can do them yourself. However you would, strictly speaking, need to get the work certified by your local BCO under the much-lambasted Part P regulations.

Of course, whether or not you actually get the certification for any work that you carry out is entirely up to you, in exactly the same way that whether you always observe the posted speed limits whilst driving is up to you. It's an offence not to comply, and you would probably burn in hell with all the other nasty people who don't do what the government wants, if you fail to do so.

You have been warned. I hope I've made myself clear. Etc. Etc.
