Joining S/E Plasterboard

Jun 17, 2006 0 Replies

I have boarded my bathroom walls and ceilings using T/E boards so those joins are not a problem but there is one part between where the ceiling stops and the window ( this is to allow the window to open inwards ) where I will have the top of one board on the wall meeting another so that's two short straight edges meeting .

What's the opinion on how best to achieve this join so it doesn't show . Depending on how I do it the upper board may have it's edge tapered if I turn the board on it's side but the lower board will definitely have a straight edge.

Can I taper the edge(s) using e.g. a small plane, then fill with tape and joint filler .Will that work .Any suggestions appreciated .The boards are not being skimmed .just painted .
