Hotpoint DC28 wont go grr (dishwasher)

Nov 18, 2004 2 Replies

Symptoms are:

Fills with water, but no pump activity. Sounds like the pump is jammed / ? as there is a repeating brief hum during which the lights dim slightly(!) then nothing then brief hum again.

After about 10mins of this the pre-wash and wash LEDS start blinking together at about a 1hz frequency.

Have checked the filters, which are clean, if the pump is jammed- not sure how it could get so!

Any ideas before I call Hotpoint....

*update* pump is not stuck - there is a cunning screwdriver slot in the shaft accessed thro a hole in the tin work. "Enginneer" coming in the morning! *touches wood*

slightly(!)

Engineer called, inspected and metered wash pump. Diagnosis- pump shorted to earth. Funny it didnt blow the house RCD's though.

Have to don marigolds until next week whilst new pump is shipped :o(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((
