Help with bay window sizing

Sep 14, 2004 1 Replies

Hi,

I have a bay window that I wish to measure and cut some hardboard to lay down on some old floorboards to create a more level surface... and to reduce from draft coming in from outside.

I have absolutely no idea how best to go about measuring and cutting the hardboard re the angles of the bay window base. Is there some tool I need for this or is there some clever way to do it?

Thanks,

John.

I'd suggest making a template using some old wallpaper or backing paper. Lay it on the floor in the bay and then just crease it into the corner of the floor and wall and then cut along the creases. This will leave you with a template that fits neatly into the angles of the bay. Then draw round the template onto the hardboard.
