Grouts, Sealants and Spacers

I've done all the hard work and I'm all set to start tiling - but first a few questions.

I notice a considerable variation in the cost of silicone sealants and tile grouts. Some claim to stay white longer, resist stains, mould etc, etc. Is this all marketing hype or are the more expensive products better than the cheaper ones. Is there anyone out there with inside knowledge that can tell me whether the difference is purely in the packaging - and of course the price?

And is acrylic grout better than traditional grout for shower rooms? Will it really stay whiter longer and resist staining? Are there any disadvantages?

And finally, tile spacers. I have 33.3 x 20 cm tiles. I think 3mm looks right but swmbo reckons the grout line is too wide and it will take forever to keep clean. Is there a rule/guide on what looks best and are there any practical considerations - apart from the cost of the grout.

Many Thanks Des
