Garage Roof Condensation.

Dec 04, 2004 2 Replies

The corrugated steel of my garage roof collects alot of condensation this time of year. This drips down and makes the contents of the garage damp. Has anyone suggestions or solutions they have installed to combat this? I thought of polystyrene sheet insulation, anyone know of a supplier of large sheets near Nottingham?

Builder's merchant? I just bought some sheets of 8ftx4ft 50mm polystyrene sheet from Travis Perkins. About £11 each, IIRC.

My mate installed two humidity controlled fans one at either end of the gable (?) of his garage. His condensation was appearing on polythene coating on the insulation wedged between the roof timbers. When triggered the fans pulled the damp air out and that prevented the condensation forming.
