Flooring glue question

Hi,

The manufactures instructions for the semi-solid wood flooring I am laying state to place a thin bead of PVA wood glue at the back of the groove.

Does this sound right to people here?

Wouldn't the glue be better on the top of the tounge?

Thanks,

Graham

No, because the glue will squeeze out on the underneath rather than on top.

Sorry! I don't understand which one the two questions you are refering to !!!

Why? - either way it's going to end up covering both, I would have thought squeezing a thin bead of runny glue into a long trench would be easier than trying to coax it into standing to attention along a long thin peak.

It is much easier to apply glue to a groove, rather than a tongue. It also doesn't scrape off as you fit, so there is less mess.
