As my garage floor attracts puddles at the least excuse, the news of the coming deluge has me worried. I want to use self tappers to fix a rubber strip along the bottom of my garage door. I expect to need a metal strip to screw through and hold the rubber firmly in place. To reduce the need for drilling Im hoping to buy a long strip of metal of a lacey structure but I can't think how to word the search to find such specific material. Any adivice available?

Expamet (expanded metal mesh)?
If you use something like this, it comes with a pre-drilled aluminium section which you screw to the bottom of the door and then slide the rubber into it.

Thanks. It looks like the material description I'm lookng for.
Thanks. The round holed bar found by following this link looks like just the job.
Thanks for the link. These options look good, both the type that screws to the bottom of the door and the hump type that glues to the garage floor. One of the problems here is that the gap at the bottom of the up and over door is uneven. That is, tapered. Also, I wish I hadn't read the 1 star negative reviews for the screw on type. With the humped type I can't work out if the bottom of the door needs to make firm contact with the hump, or if the hump itself is enough to prevent ingress. Another tricky consideration regarding the tapered gap.
I think you nee a uniform gap for any of these things to work. What is the side to side difference in the gap? What is the door made of? If wood, can you cut a tapered bit off the bottom to make the gap uniform or, if it's made of metal, can you fix some solid tapered material to the bottom?
