finding stair runner

Can anyone suggest where I can buy stair runner at a reasonable cost? I've done a search of course -

do them, but their prices start at £36/metre! They seem to be the only place that sells conventional (as opposed to materials like coir) runners.

Hi,

I think you should find your local independent carpet specialist can do better than that although it will still be scarily expensive.

If you've got turns in your staircase, fitting isn't cheap either.

We opted to buy some normal carpet and get it "whipped" to work as a runner. It cost £1/M for the whipping. We couldn't therefore get the nice patterns proper runners have but it still looks great. Tartan works particularly well if thats your thing.
