Dripping tap continues to drip with new valve

Hey Guys

I had a dripping tap in my bathroom which when I opened up the valve showed a worn out washer. Rather then replacing the washer I decided to get a brand new set of valves. I have put these in , but the tap continues to drip ! Did I miss a trick ? The entire valve body for the hot and cold sides are brand new. ( its a mixer tap ). I cant now figure out where the leak could be.

Cheers for any help A

Or it could be a bit of detritus getting washed down with the water and not clearing the valve seating. It's a problem I get with both bath and sink taps occasionally. I suspect it may have something to do with having a softener in the system, but ICBW.

I find that turning the tap back on and then off again clears the problem. If that doesn't work (not very often, fortunately), I take the tops off the taps and check to make sure there's no odd bits on the seating. Usually there isn't, probably gets washed out with the little bit of drainage as the top is first undone!

YO!

Yep, did you check the condition of the seat in the tap body? Probably cracked or scratched. You'll need at tap seat cutter to recut the seat to make it smooth.
